Hallsfoot, Authonomy and a night in the garden

Have spent a large part of today focusing on Gelahn the evil mind-executioner in Hallsfoot's Battle and actually it's gone surprisingly well. I now have about 32,800 words under my belt - well, I suppose I do enjoy writing on the dark side best of all, and the mind-executioner is nothing if not dark. Though I do like to think he has a certain evil charm. If only to me. And he has his reasons, you know - the Elders of Gathandria aren't entirely squeaky-clean in the making of a vengeful madman. Though, with so much more pain and agonising death to come, one shouldn't be sympathising too much with Gelahn. In the final reckoning, his choices are deliberate. At least that's the plan. Though it may yet turn out to be a fluffy fantasy romance between Gelahn and his super-sized ego - who can tell?...

Meanwhile, my brief moment of fame and glory on the Authonomy website appears to be unexpectedly prolonged as I am still down as the Number One Talent Spotter. Perhaps they've forgotten I'm there? I can think of no other explanation indeed. Mind you, even though the little green up arrow is being peculiarly kind to my editorial talents, it is frowning on my writing ones: all my books now have sad red arrows pointing determinedly downwards. Much like my writing career then. You can have a giggle at this state of affairs at my Authonomy profile and leave rude comments on all my books if you like. I'm aiming to be the lowest of the low by the end of the month, if not before, and am hoping for a rating in quadruple figures fairly soon. Or perhaps I'm missing the point?

Anyway, tonight, Lord H and I are off to the theatre to see Born in the Gardens starring the magnificent Stephanie Cole. Billed as an "addictively quirky delight", it sounds sooo us, dahlings ... And hell even if it's rubbish, the ice creams will be good. Guildford knows how to provide good ice cream in an interval, unlike Woking where the ice cream is always woefully inadequate. Much like my book rating then.

Today's nice things:

1. Getting to grips with the mind-executioner
2. Having fun with Authonomy
3. Theatre.

Fluffy fantasy romance? Yes please :)

Mind you - choosing Jane Austen over the divine Mr Sher last night. How could you?

Ah, but I'm just a crazy, mixed-up kid, Sarah! And I've saved the Sher for later, naturally ...
